I'm thinking maybe of closing down iiichan in a year or so.
I'm just not that interested in anime anymore, or imageboards. It was cool when I was 15 and it felt illicit. But now it's just a hassle, and I can't really pull together the interest for maintaining it anymore. I'm ready to move on.
Imageboards are played out, I think; an evolutionary dead-end. Anonymity is dead, on the large. 4chan has sucked all the air out of the room. Personal boards still have a niche (look at sage freehaven's board, for example). But everyone uses facebook and twitter now. The web is all about networking with faces and names (or at least extremely solid pseudonyms).
I don't know what, if anything, this would mean for iichan proper. Maybe nothing. I have no idea how Blackmage feels about imageboards. Haven't spoken to him in quite a while.
